In the fall of 2014, the Ontario Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs announced the Aboriginal Development Fund. IAPO, working cooperatively with Two Rivers Community Development Centre and the Metis Voyageur Development Fund was successful in applying for AEDF funding through the Business & Community Fund.

The Business & Community Fund aims to enhance community-level economic development through grants for economic capacity-building. It also provides financing to ensure promising projects and businesses are viable when other available funding sources have been reasonably exhausted. This stream also enhances the ability of Aboriginal communities and businesses to leverage other funding and financing sources for economic development projects.*

To support high potential business acquisitions, start ups and expansions, IAPO is pleased to offer the Aboriginal Start Up and Expansion Program (ABSEP). ABSEP provides financing and grants to eligible businesses within the Central and Eastern Ontario (east of Yonge St., Toronto). Across Ontario, all eligible First Nations farm and agribusinesses are welcome to apply.
